Washington State Jaguar Fans First Time

Wanted to write a quick entry for all you Jaguar fans reading this new bloggers first post with the idea of many more to come!

A little about myself, is I am a 23 year old college graduate out of Washington State University where I received my BA in Sports Management with a Minor in Communications.

I have been in love with sports my entire life and am currently working for a professional arenafootball2 team locally and one day home to move up the ranks and enter into a NFL team.

While growing up with sports, one gets to see many many many view points regarding teams across the country.  99.9% of those view points are biased opinions put on by the lack of interest outside their own media venues.  IE east coast and west coast biased!  I always made the point that half of the country seemed to be asleep whenever the PAC-10, AFC West, NFC West, NL West, AL West etc. held their night games due to the fact it would be beyond midnight on the eastern seaboard before the final outcome was decided.  With the addition of the entire internet and multiple sports shows, people can visually see for themselves everyone's opinion no matter what bias they may have.  This is great for sports!  The more people who can talk about Pac-10 vs. SEC or AFC West vs. AFC South, the better understanding people can have as a whole of the sport and not just their selective teams.

I for one have been a Jacksonville Jaguar fan since they entered the league in 1995.  No I am not from Florida, I am from Washington State (not Seattle, draw a line to the opposite southern point of Washington and you'll find Tri-Cities Washington).  I decided, when I was 10, that no one will ever call me a Joy Fan (bandwagon rider, etc) and have stuck with my team through think and thin ever since.  13 years later, I am still rolling true to my colors; Teal, Gold, Silver and Black!  The best thing about being a Jaguar Fan is also the worst.  I rarely get to watch them play due to local broadcast showing Seahawk, 49er, Oakland, KC, and Denver (even though I didn't even get to watch the Jag game against Denver except on ESPN Gamecast).  But I love being a loner in the world and love hearing people's opinion of the Jaguars when they do not even know anything about them.  You would not believe how many people did not know/called me a liar for telling them David Garrard had the 3rd highest passer rating in all of the NFL last season!  It makes for interesting conversation to say the least.

Last thing I will lead off with for now is the fact Jacksonville would not be where they are today without the help of football on the West Coast.  Let us not forget QB great Mark Brunell out of the University of Washington!   And the Pac-10's presence is felt today with non other then UCLA's Maurice Jones-Drew and Mercedes Lewis as well as Reggie Williams out of the University of Washington, plus many more up and comers from USC, Washington and Washington State!  With this great blend of young athletes and stars from the Pac-10 mixing with the SEC, ACC and other southern conferences, it is no wonder the Jaguars are always in the thick of things and will soon get to that Super Bowl that has eluded their grasps thus far.

I like to write things to open discussion for everyone to be a part of and to inact thought!  Feel free to comment and discuss any future post and I will responde and discuss right along side the rest of my fellow fans and opposition.

Until next time Jag Fans!  I am Michael Bryant, the one true Washington State Jaguar!
